Joining FABIG
FABIG is a non-profit making organisation that sustains its activities via an annual membership fee from all its members. Membership fees are based on the company type (oil and gas operator, design contractor, specialist consultants, manufacturers, verifiers, regulators) and company turnover and number of employees.
Membership Benefits
FABIG membership offers the following benefits to members:
-
4 Technical Meetings per year: Attendance to all technical meetings are free for members. Technical meetings are generally a half-day event where industry experts are invited to give presentations on key topics of interest to members. Members can send multiple delegates to the meetings while non-members have to pay a fee of £350.00 (+ VAT) per delegate per meeting. Click
here for the list of meeting proceedings to date.
-
3-4 Newsletters per year: Newsletters are sent to all FABIG members free of charge. Click
here for the list of Newsletters issued to date.
-
1 Technical Note every 2 years: FABIG Technical Notes are the only available documents within the industry with step- by-step procedures and worked examples for the design of topside structures to withstand fires and explosions. At least one Technical Note is produced every two years and this is usually developed as a result of a Joint Industry Project. Topics for Technical Notes are normally decided by the Steering Committee and address critical gaps in our knowledge of fires and explosions. Click

-
Networking Opportunities: FABIG membership provides an opportunity to network with the relevant people in the industry (be it contractors, consultants, operators, manufacturers, certifiers or regulators) through participation in FABIG Meetings, FABIG Steering Committee, Review Board of FABIG Projects and FABIG Newsletters.
-
CPD: Members of most engineering institutions such as the Institutions of Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Chemical and Marine Engineers can count the FABIG Technical Meetings as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training. Certificates are issued to delegates upon request.
