SUMMARY

This document is the Final Summary Report on the Blast and Fire Engineering Project for Topside Structures Phase 2. The project's ultimate objective was to improve the industry's confidence in its safety systems with respect to hydrocarbon explosions and fires. This has been done by generating large scale data on the loading associated with hydrocarbon fires and explosions, and using this data in model evaluation exercises.

This volume contains 3 parts. Part I (Project Overview and Test Summaries) details the project scope, the experimental test programmes, project conclusions and gives test result summaries from all of the Phase 2 tests. Part II (Fire Model Evaluation Exercise) and Part III (Explosion Model Evaluation Exercise) describe the model evaluation procedures and present the results of the model evaluation exercises.
