TITLE:Risk assessments and standards leading to safety distances for hydrogen refuelling stations
SPEAKER:Asmund Huser, DNV GL
DURATION:1 hour (40 min + Q&A)
TIME:13.00 to 14.00 (BST)
ABSTRACT:This Webinar will review safety distances for Hydrogen Refuelling Stations (HRS), providing some background and indicating differences. Recent accidents will be used to review the safety of HRS, using the safety distance risk parameter for comparison. DNV GL has developed generic HRS safety distances for the Norwegian Safety authorities (DSB) and the underlying risk analysis will be presented. The report is now at the public hearing stage and the presentation will hence outline the current status. In addition, Risk-based assessment will be outlined as an approach whereby a safe and cost optimal solution can be obtained. This may be critical when HRS are scaled up and moving into cities.

FABIG WEBINAR SERIES

We will be organising lunchtime webinars every two weeks whilst working life remains disrupted by measures to combat the COVID-19 epidemic. Such measures either prohibit or make inadvisable large meetings such as our Technical Meetings. We are still looking for presentations for our series of lunchtime Webinars and as such, please do not hesitate to contact us at fabig@steel-sci.com if you or one of your colleagues would like to give a presentation at one of the forthcoming FABIG Lunchtime Webinars.
